District 3 deserves a councilperson who will fight for our families, our businesses, and our community. Together, we will build a Pontiac we are all proud of.
For too long it seems like we've been wandering around with no real direction, and it's about time we move forward with a purpose!
Green and renewable energy is our planet’s and our people’s future. It’s about time that communities like ours are ahead of the curve instead of following behind it.

To survive, we need a roof over our head, but it does not mean that we should be forced to accept lower quality. Everyone deserves the access to affordable, safe, and high quality housing.

Pontiac has earned its place in history as a strong, working class city. Continuing, and building up this legacy should be a top priority.

For too long, Black and Brown communities like ours have been on the oppressive end of the War On Drugs. Now the ball is our court to take control of our community’s financial future.

Pontiac cannot be a healthy city with a future without healthy people. Our city has the potential to provide for its citizens, and we need to start doing it.

Mikal Goodman is a born and raised Pontiac resident who has spent the last 5 years as a political activist and community advocate for the Black and Brown communities all across the country, especially the City of Pontiac. For the past two years, he has worked as a teacher at a predominantly Black school to help educate and uplift students in his community in a way society has failed to.
Mikal believes heavily in his fight for equity and equality for all people, focusing on workers’ rights, healthcare, environmental justice, and racial justice. This fight has led him to working on different campaigns and volunteering with different organizations that help with his mission to help move society forward. This has led him to serving as the Vice Chair for the Young Democrats of Michigan, a Committee Chair for Oakland County Democratic Party, and a founding board member for Pontiac United (in addition to many other organizations) to make sure communities like ours are heard by those in power.
