No matter where we look, we see our country moving towards Renewable Sources of energy to meet our needs for electricity, heating, and transportation. Every day we see more and more of these alternative energy sources popping up to meet the energy needs of rich and suburban middle class neighborhoods, not only is this lowering their energy bill costs, but bringing their communities more high paying jobs in a quickly growing industry. Meanwhile, Black and Brown Communities are being left behind on this shift, leaving our families stuck with the rising cost of living without access to these new jobs. If we want our city to prosper and our families to thrive, this must change!

As your Pontiac City Councilperson, I will fight to:

• Move our city and neighborhoods towards cheaper, healthier, and more reliable energy sources.
• Guarantee healthy, dignified living for Pontiac’s low-wage workers by prioritizing them for newly emerging and high-paying renewable energy jobs.
• Oppose any projects that expand the city’s fossil fuel infrastructure and advocate for the use of renewable energy sources to achieve a carbon-neutral and self-reliant Pontiac.
